Noemi Kiss joined the Department of Health Economics in November 2014.
Ms. Kiss is deeply committed to contributing to the information and methodologies in developing economies and developed economies with dynamic healthcare systems. She is particularly excited to join the Medical University of Vienna given the changing health economics landscape in Austria. In addition to system-level evaluations and policy, her research interests include: the delivery of cost-effective interventions in elderly care, alcoholism, obesity; multi-sectoral interventions; cost-effectiveness in physical therapy; and cost-effectiveness in oncology. Noemi has experience on projects across a wide variety of clinical areas including oncology, respiratory disease, and ocular disease and emphasizes the importance of coordination of different stakeholders in the healthcare field.
Ms. Kiss recently earned her MSc in Health Economics from the University of York (United Kingdom). Her master’s dissertation was based at the Centre for Health Economics at the University of York on the Team for Economic Evaluation and Health Technology Assessment (TEETHA). Prior to York, Ms. Kiss was a Health Economist at Oxford Outcomes, Ltd (and Oxford’s parent company ICON plc). While at Oxford Outcomes, she was responsible for projects in economic modelling of drugs, devices, and diagnostics; systematic literature reviews; and cost-of-illness studies. Noemi joined Oxford Outcomes after working as an Intern and Research Assistant at the Health Economics Consulting Group (2008-10), where she gained experience in a wide variety of projects related to health outcomes research, policy analysis, and litigation support. Noemi earned her Bachelor’s degree double majoring in International Economics and International Political Science at Drew University (United States). While studying at Drew University, she went abroad for two economic policy and development research semesters; one in China and in Brussels, Belgium. Noemi is fluent in English, German, Hungarian, and Spanish.
