The recently established transdisciplinary Ludwig Boltzmann Institute Applied Diagnostics (LBI AD) in Vienna, Austria, is an international research institute which focuses on the development and application of non-invasive dual diagnostic methods (combining molecular epigenetic and genetic signatures and molecular imaging biomarkers) to allow for improved tumor diagnosis and characterisation, and its translation into personalised patient care.
We currently have a Senior Researcher in Health Economics position to support the development of efficient personalised oncological test-treatment strategies using both individual level data analyses and decision analytic modelling/health technology assessment as part of the socioeconomic program line led by Professor Judit Simon. Candidates with strong quantitative and modelling skills and the desire to get involved in both methodological and applied translational health economics research in the area of oncology are encouraged to apply. Potential interest/knowledge in medical ethics is an advantage. The candidate will work in a stimulating, interdisciplinary environment (tumour biology, pathology, nuclear medicine, chemistry, pharmacology, health economics, ethics) for the LBI AD being based at and with strong links to the Department of Health Economics of the Medical University of Vienna.
The position is available until the 30.06.2023. Salary will be based on experience and according to rates of the Austrian Science Foundation (FWF).

The Department of Health Economics, Center for Public Health, Medical University of Vienna is wishing to appoint an Administrator for Teaching and Research position starting as early as possible. The position is half-time, fixed-term until 27 December 2018. Salary and terms of employment are according to the collective contract category IIIa. The monthly minimum salary for this half-time position is Euro 960,80 gross (14 times a year).
The working language of the Department is English.
The position holder will administer and support all teaching and research activities of the department including administrative, financial, logistic and disseminational aspects. Specific aspects will focus on grant and research project management, support and co-ordination of existing and future teaching and supervision activities, and course development and organisation. Support to other administrative functions of the department are also foreseen as needed. Candidates with relevant previous work experience are encouraged to apply.

The Department of Health Economics, Centre for Public Health, Medical University of Vienna is wishing to appoint a senior researcher (postdoc) in health economics. The position is half-time (20 hours per week), fixed-term until 30.09.2018 and can be filled immediately. Salary and terms of employment are according to the collective contract (Euro 1795.40, 14x per year) or higher if relevant senior postdoc experience is given. The position holder will work on the EC funded Horizon 2020 SME Instrument Program, the PreDicT project (Predicting Response to Depression Treatment). This multi-centre study aims to compare the clinical and cost effectiveness of the P1vital® eHealth-Emotional Test Battery (eH-ETB) with standard of care in five European countries (Germany, France, Spain, UK, The Netherlands). The successful candidate will work in the area of economic evaluation and analyse the societal costs, outcomes and cost-effectiveness of eH-ETB. He/she will contribute to the successful management, analysis and completion of the health economics components of the project and the dissemination of the relevant study results. He/she will be expected to be familiar and apply existing methods in health economics, further new methodological approaches, develop his/her own research interests, prepare grant applications and publish in high quality, peer-reviewed journals. He/she will advise and supervise junior colleagues and students and contribute to the DHE’s teaching and other research activities as needed.
Applicants should have a PhD/DPhil in health economics or a related discipline. They should have extensive experience in data analysis with Excel, Stata (or equivalent) and possess strong quantitative skills such as statistics, econometrics, evidence synthesis, and decision modelling. Previous research experience in health economics (preferably in economic evaluation) and a track record of peer-reviewed publications are essential. Experience with project management and competitive grant applications is an advantage. Applicants should have excellent written and spoken English and a working knowledge of German. Additional requirements include enthusiasm, self-motivation, being a team player, ability to work independently, and managing and completing work to agreed deadlines.
